...that the 3/3 saw play.

Then, I say 4 mana 2/2. Sorry, I didn't know

@DustenStein The 3/3 is indeed played in Evolve Shaman. I'd go as far as to say if this was just "cast Evolve" it would be strong.

I'd say this is fine. It's basically a random 4 mana minion which also evolves your other minions, a random 3 mana minion that revolves or a 1/1 that devolves your opponent's stuff.
If you just imagine each of the spells separately on a Legendary 3/1/1 you'd say it's weak and too specific and niche, right? Giving it this flexibility makes this playable.
HOWEVER:
Is the 3 mana 3/3 Battlecry: evolve adjacent minions played? If yes, I think this could be a 4 mana 2/2. If no, this should be fine as is.

You're right, Grumble's Battlecry was a downside, because he literally removed minions from your board. He was only situationally good, but because he was also a 6 Mana 7/7, he usually wasn't because you couldn't pair his Battlecry up with much else on the same turn.

Evolving, however, is almost always an upside since minions of a higher Cost are on average always stronger, unless you're playing some weird buff Shaman deck. 3 Mana 4/4 means you can pair this with cards like Desert Hare in the same turn, and if you don't want your board evolved you just choose Devolve instead and get a strong Devolve on a stick. They're not comparable in any way, a 3 Mana 4/4 with 1 Mana worth of upside is OP plain and simple.

@sense124 I mean, yes, you're not wrong. my point is that blizzard has printed overstatted cards with upsides, unless we look at 'Return your other minions to your hand. They cost (1)' as a downside, I don't see any issue, a 3/4/4 (4/4 being the average stats of a 4 cost minion) with an upside as being overpowered since Grumble wasn't in his own right.

@Gothe True, it's just confusing to judge a card on base value. Since if I'm following your previous logic, that means Bogstok Clacker is a 3/3 with a downside.
Gothe 3 years ago
@sense124 and if you play shudderwock shaman and want to go infinite, Grumble Worldshaker's a 6/7/7 with an upside. I'm not trying to say that this is completely balanced or anything, just putting it out there.
sense124 3 years ago
@Gothe I mean, if you have played evolve shaman before you know that you always want to constantly evolve. So this is a 3 4/4 on average with an upside.
Gothe 3 years ago
@Randomizer I mean, shaman has had a 6/7/7 that returns your other minions to your hand and sets their cost to (1). His downside was he returned minions to your hand. Guess this guy being a 3/4/4 on average downside is he transforms your minions into random ones of a higher cost that might not be optimal for you at that moment.
sense124 3 years ago
But I guess it's kinda fine since this is a legendary.
sense124 3 years ago
Yeah, this is already a better Bogstrok Clacker and it's a lot more flexible.
Randomizer 3 years ago
Seems OP, since it evolves itself in the process making it's on average a 3 Mana 4/4 (or 3/4?) that evolves your minions, with bonus flexibility.
Gothe 3 years ago
great nonetheless

Couldn't it just be 'Battlecry: Cast Evolve, Revolve, or Devolve."?

Take 2 of this meme after applying the feedback. I'll delete the old one if this gets into the gallery as a replacement (or keep it if you guys want).
