MosnarNoedig3 years ago Yeah, but seeing what Wild Growth did made me think that it was a universal mechanic for extra mana when you were already at 10, not just that one specific card. The text of the Excess Mana card seems to imply that as well. It's fine if they don't write it out, but I'd prefer it was universal.
keyvnn93 years ago It’s for the same reason that Sense Demons doesnt write out “If you can’t, add two 1/1 Imps to your hand” or Mindgames doesnt say “If you can’t, summon a 0/1 Shadow.” If people know what cards do, some special cases dont need to be written in stone
MosnarNoedig3 years ago I know that's the explanation, but it doesn't really make sense from a gameplay perspective. The rule feels like it should be: If you gain empty Mana Crystals when you already have 10, gain 'Excess Mana.' However, it's actually 'If you gain empty Mana Crystals when you already have 10, as long as the card that granted them doesn't provide any other benefit, gain Excess Mana.' That feels weird and sloppy to me.
Gothe3 years ago Yeah, it's cuz it still does something; summon a Jade golem.
MosnarNoedig3 years ago I actually never realized that Jade Blossom didn't generate Excess Mana. Odd.
Gothe3 years ago I'd argue that Wild Growth is stronger than this and Jade Blossom (although if you're a jade deck, there's a case to be made for Jade Blossom over WG) simply because Wild Growth has early and late game applications where as this and JB don't.
keyvnn93 years ago It’s more important with the GA nerf since just Overgrowth on 4 doesnt cut it any more
DustenStein 3 years ago @keyvnn9 Really? I have never ever seen it played
keyvnn93 years ago @DustinStein Wild Growth is currently at least a 1 of, strong consideration to be a 2 of in GA. Im not sure where you get your 0% data from
Lucious3 years ago Worth noting this is useless when you have 10 Mana, unlike Wild Growth which will draw a card.
DustenStein 3 years ago I think with the increase in the power-level of cards, this should be fine. Wild Groth dropped to 0% after the nerf
MosnarNoedig3 years ago When is Jade Blossom not just better Wild Growth?
