DustenStein 3 years ago I know it's too late now but I would have preferred it if you got to pick a Cost (at least the first time). Otherwise you're not asking a riddle, you're just pulling a random question from the imaginary hat
DestroyerR (creator)3 years ago @platypus2173 it just changes the cost of the card , so it could become a “who started with more *(4)*-Cost cards in their deck?”

The Monkey King doesn't mess around.
DustenStein 3 years ago This is a cool card utilising a very interesting "mechanic" in a great way which, like all other cards that a built like this, is not made to be strong in competitive but rather just to be cool and interesting. All I'm saying is that this is competitively useless but still an awesome card despite that.
Gothe3 years ago @Dustenstein isn't that the point though? It forces them to pay attention. If they don't, they'll have quite the riddles to solve. Even then, it can be looked at like a 4/3/5 Battlecry "your opponent has 1 less mana crystal next turn"
yeah, it's not great, at least it's not completely useless.
DustenStein 3 years ago How often did the riddle change lmao? I have absolutely no idea about what you were talking about moments ago.
To the card though, it works. Horrible, horrible, absolutely terrifying pain in archetype mirror decks. Not that any deck would run this though because it's a mirrored effect on an average card which can be easily walked around by just paying attention to your opponent's gameplan.

Kapiork (3.9)3 years ago I'd say you should be able to attack if you discard the Riddle, Geist included.
Mzop (3.7)3 years ago ok, cool card, still a problem with Skulking geist but thats so specific and all
DestroyerR (creator)3 years ago @Mzop I’m pretty sure you can reasonably assume based on your opponent’s cards if he has more or less cheap/expensive cards than you. Not to mention you can try a few times
Mzop (3.7)3 years ago not as much a riddle as *random*
DestroyerR (creator)3 years ago How about this one? It starts with a random cost, the answers can be “Me”, “My Opponent” and “Tied”, and if you get it wrong it returns to your hand with a different cost
DestroyerR (creator)3 years ago Well, the riddle card would be hard coded to have the effect, so if you get rid of it you can just attack as normal. I’m still trying to find a better riddle though
Mzop (3.7)3 years ago maybe you just have to get it out of your hand to avoid the Skulking Geist Condition, so while its in their hand they cant attack with friendly characters?
DragonicDoom3 years ago Turn 10, The Monkey King into Skulking Geist. Neither player can attack.
keyvnn93 years ago The riddle is really just a 1 mana Curse that you need to play. It’s never a condition to have to remember what cards are.
For starters, the internet.
Gothe3 years ago should also note that you dont have to specify this on the card itself, but it should be coded that with your own riddle, you cant discover your opponent's riddle
DestroyerR (creator)3 years ago Hmmm, I think I should change the riddle then if it encourages players to essentially not play cards, or rather only play topdecks
Gothe3 years ago Nah, the wording is okay. “that player’s characters can’t attack” is better and clearer. But my point is that they'll have to guess what card i'm gonna play first. But if I don't play any cards, because i'm ahead on board, then that sorta negates their minions and hero attacks.
They can still deal with my stuff and kill me with spells I guess.
I could also do a really stupid move and dump my hand before playing The Monkey King and then play his riddle in the same turn to prevent my opponent from ever guessing anything.
small exploits, like with old togwaggle.
DestroyerR (creator)3 years ago @Gothe probably should make this clearer, “Players can't attack” means “that player’s characters can’t attack”. Any cleaner wording suggestions?
Gothe3 years ago they'll never guess that I wont play any cards because I'm ahead on board
@Gody322 see my response to @platypus2173
What are the other riddles?
