Randomizer3 years ago @keyvnn9 Right, so Corruption happens after Mythrax is played and resolved, so it will summon a Horror.
keyvnn93 years ago I think Corrupt is just a slow-trigger mechanic that triggers after a card is completely resolved, since the animation takes a while to start
Randomizer3 years ago Lemme take that logic and apply it to my argument.
We also know Elise doesn't Corrupt any card before she copies it. That's because when Elise is played, Elise isn't a present and valid source of Corruption until after her Battlecry resolves. Corruption clearly doesn't happen until a minion's existence is resolved on board.
So, playing Mythrax would obviously Corrupt a card, but going by Elise's logic he won't Corrupt a card until AFTER he truly exists on the board. So when you play Mythrax, he exists on the board, and his "After" effect also exists. After Mythrax's existence is resolved, Corruption occurs in hand. That Corruption should definitely be a present and valid source for Mythrax's effect to trigger. Am I missing anything?
TheFriendlyEnemy 3 years ago Effects that trigger "After" something require the source of that effect to be present and valid before that thing happened.
This is the reason behind the Elise interaction you've mentioned, since Corrupt itself is an "After" trigger. The copies made by Elise weren't present and valid before Elise was played, but the originals were.
Randomizer3 years ago Can you explain why that's not how the game works? When you play Elise to duplicate your hand, it copies the uncorrupted minions and not the Corrupted versions of any minion that Elise corrupts. So basically, a minion being played pre-dates card corruption.
So Mythrax is played, his aura is out. Then Corruption occurs with stuff like Strongman, the effect should trigger because Mythrax is on board.
TheFriendlyEnemy 3 years ago It doesn't work with cards it corrupts. That's not how the game works.
Randomizer3 years ago Feels a bit too strong when this can corrupt Tickatus or Strongman by itself, summoning 1-2 Eldritch Horrors immediately.
Jdude603 years ago me and the boys going on a corrupting spree
FriendlyShadow 3 years ago So... This will summon a 6/10 for each cards he Corrupts? Feels OP to me... but Idk.
sebastian@arcadecont 3 years ago I think this is a really cool card! It's a hard condition to have a whole bunch of uncorrupted cards in your hand, but the pay off is a ton of 6/10s!
Turba3 years ago @TheArcanist Well yeah.. they are both C'Thrax
Turba3 years ago I wish Mythrax had bigger stats than Eldrich Horror.. like 9 Mana 7/11? Also it seems like Mythrax corrupts all the cards on the entrance so it is more like a Battlecry by this point... filling the board with uninteractive stat sticks like the old Jade Golems...
I am sure you can change this effect in a way that it works a little bit better
TheArcanist (4.4)3 years ago Wow, these two are soooooo similar, I just noticed that.
