Only aggro decks would be willing to destroy one of they minions, becuase mid range and control decks' minions are usually to valuable to trade them for raw stats. And this comes a bit later. Yeah, turn 5 is quite the difference to turn 4, as you would have more options and possibly a better board pressence. Especially in the meta we have right now, where we have a lot of good anwsers to big minions

Marleon (4.2)4 years ago Everyone was fine with 4 mana 7/7 overload 2, but why is 5 mana 8/8 game breaking? Im not really sure. It can't be just for the fact it is neutral, right? Most decks wouldn't even run it. It's very risky in a control deck, because those decks don't really run weak minions, so if you draw this later in the game, you have to wait for an empty board on your side. It would be much stronger in an aggro deck which can sacrifice some of its weaker minions. However this doesn't really break the game, as it's just a big minion with no synergies. Sure, it can break eggs, but Im not sure if that would be too strong. I think the meta is slow enough most decks would be able to deal with that and the fast decks wouldn't really run a card that doesn't support its game plan

Even if you do have minions, you just play this on the edge of your board and kill a token.
I agree with @TheArcanist that this should be required to destroy 2 minions to be an 8/8 (still really strong). Could even be something like a 4/4 that gainst +2/+2 for each minion it destroys with its Battlecry.

Mage has Polymorph, Hunter has Deadly Shot, Rogue has Assassinate, Priest has Shadow Word: Death, Shaman has Hex, Paladin has Humility (or some equivalent), Warlock has Siphon Soul, Druid has no hard removal, but can easily trade into the minion due to the nature of the class, and Warrior has Execute + a damaging effect. While it is true that a 5 Mana 8/8 with Taunt is strong, it is certainly not invincible, and upon destroying this minion, your opponent will either be down three minions, or they will have a completely empty board, potentially losing them the game.
