King Kuba (creator)1 year ago @DustenStein Well, for the most part, Doom Clock package is supposed to fill the gaps, they replaced some really weak (atm) menagerie stuff and some typeless Taunt stuff + Ghastcoiler. You can go with one minion type while trying to get some cheap early game and mid-game stats through the Doom Clock - risking your defeat, unless you do specific things. Doomer is where the late game starts. You don't need Doom Clock engines anymore. Then, Dr. Boom's Dad is an ultimate reward for going along with this strategy. It stops your Doom Clock, so you can move away from it or keep going with Mal'Ganis being the main enthusiast of staying in. Of course there can be some flaws or balance issues (official game likes to start with new additions being really strong, too), but overall I think it fits really well. Especially Doom Clock - imo it feels even more intriguing in Battlegrounds.
And Buddies - yep, they're out for now, but if they ever come back, that's how I would've imagined them. Maybe Turtle needs a bit of tuning but the concepts would be the same :finleySmile:
DustenStein (4.4)1 year ago The doom clock concept is flawed in BGs. The Tier 2 minions are very weak. Herald of Sacrifice is literally the only thing you need. If you get unlucky and the Tier 5 Doomer is the only minion from a triple reward that is good, you could swap it out with Herald but otherwise, Dr. Boom's Dad and Doom Knight are just free big stats. Turtle of Malganis is therefore quite broken (not a big issue, buddies are gone anyway :tinyfin: )

King Kuba (creator)1 year ago @MorgenStern All Neutral Doom Clock cards have even Cost (1,3,5,7) which makes Doom Rager special as it can either reset your Clock also on 2 or deal 5 damage for 2; Deathrattle synergies can also make it more interesting.
Since you asked that question, imma also bring up something from behind the scenes - the original design was that each clock set effect gave you +3 more Doom Clock turns instead, so Doom Rager made even more sense before. But I decided to change that because it had too much potential to just stack so many turns that once you do it you don't need to worry about it for the rest of the game. Battlecry/Deathrattle repeaters, 2 copies of each card etc. Neutral minions alone would be just too OP and Bringers would achieve too absurd numbers too easily.

- The Neutral set: you really payed attention to supporting your specific archetypes while also keeping the cards generally good and Neutral. Well done!
- For Hunter, I like Nonsayer a lot more than the rest :chicken:
- *Manapotamus! WOW* what a cool card, if it's good it can slot into ramp decks, Beast decks, it might go into aggro too, 5 stars card;
- Sageblast, although dangerous, I can't help but like it;
- Inner Demon is brilliant, also Lifelover is...peculiarly interesting for Priest. And the weapon is really nice;
- the Legendary Secrets are all very nice, mostly balanced and original :legendary:
Caesar (4.1)1 year ago Great work, although...I hate to be the one to say it, but I don't like the Doom Clock one bit :snake: it's by nature either broken if it works, or unplayable if it doesn't. Plus, HS is a heavy card generation game, and if you're not a Doom Clocker you will generate way more useless cards that kill you :snake: (and realistically, if a Doom Clock kills you its because you didn't draw the card/s in your deck that save you. Feels bad)
Also...warlock has a 2/3/5? Not to mention Hunter or The Blood Staff, oof my face hurts.

Agra doesn't summon any Beasts, she only Discovers them and gives them Charge, but first you need to play them :tinyfin: And since nearly all the Beasts to choose from in that Discover are 5+ Mana, they can hit hard, but you need time and Mana to do that. Those Doom Clock Beasts are also 4 and 7 Mana, so overall Hunter looks more like a midrange strategy. I also believe control Warrior can outarmor it and control Priest can outheal it, especially with the new tools both classes got

A 5/5 charge, 7/7 charge, Agra that can summon a lot of huge beasts (in your expansion there is only one neutral Beast with bad attack stat, others have 5+)
I feel like that's a lot, plus considering that doomclock creatures all have increased stats, it becomes really hard to play against imo
I love Paladin's and Priest's concepts, doompaladin and doompriest look like good control archetypes

- I went full weapon Warrior here! You can hold and generate your weapons in hand, then buff them with Daggon, play your Madlads and finally strike with those weapons for a lot of damage. Bladebreaker is a really interesting pick here, cause it's a bonus for having too many weapons essentially.
- With Secrets, it's a beginning of a Year so I wanted to give Secret classes a bit more of them to choose from; might will be more Secret synergies in the future. Also Year of the Goat doesn't have a Core Set yet, looking at those Battlecries I can already tell that Brann shouldn't be in it for example.

- Rock in Azeroth was made by MrRhapsody and I must say he did a really awesome job! Another expansion that I made was Escape from Elwynn which some of you might've known.
- Regarding Hunter, it sets up as a strong class that can consistently ends matches as long as you survive like 5 to 7 Doom Clock turns. It's not the fastest, but can hit really, really hard! :smorc: Btw, Agra doesn't have charge herself lol
- And Druid - he has a different identity. If you play Vendigo against a Hunter and follow it up by any buff, it can be game over for him very often.

I'd like to avoid any infinite or too bonkers Battlecry combos some of these guys can provide. Not sure risking defeat through unlucky Taverns is worth something Nagas provide for your whole board in the late game just as easily :thinking:
And a pure late-game set of cards is odd too. Usually everything has at least one early card. However, that being said, a strong late-game finisher is interesting
@DustenStein Well, for the most part, Doom Clock package is supposed to fill the gaps, they replaced some really weak (atm) menagerie stuff and some typeless Taunt stuff + Ghastcoiler. You can go with one minion type while trying to get some cheap early game and mid-game stats through the Doom Clock - risking your defeat, unless you do specific things. Doomer is where the late game starts. You don't need Doom Clock engines anymore. Then, Dr. Boom's Dad is an ultimate reward for going along with this strategy. It stops your Doom Clock, so you can move away from it or keep going with Mal'Ganis being the main enthusiast of staying in. Of course there can be some flaws or balance issues (official game likes to start with new additions being really strong, too), but overall I think it fits really well. Especially Doom Clock - imo it feels even more intriguing in Battlegrounds.
And Buddies - yep, they're out for now, but if they ever come back, that's how I would've imagined them. Maybe Turtle needs a bit of tuning but the concepts would be the same :finleySmile:
The doom clock concept is flawed in BGs. The Tier 2 minions are very weak. Herald of Sacrifice is literally the only thing you need. If you get unlucky and the Tier 5 Doomer is the only minion from a triple reward that is good, you could swap it out with Herald but otherwise, Dr. Boom's Dad and Doom Knight are just free big stats. Turtle of Malganis is therefore quite broken (not a big issue, buddies are gone anyway :tinyfin: )

@FriendlyShadow Thanks for your feedback! Now it costs (1) less and sets your Doom Clock on 2 turns instead of 3. Now, once you start the Clock with that Hero Power, there's 200% definitely no going back instead of 100%!

Not "hero", "portrait" but yes. You create a portrait and add it as you would any other normal card
So selecting Hero on the card creation page, and then add it as any other card? Sorry, I just never did that before x))

If you click on it, you'll see its shape is just like what a hero portrait would have. It's a bit weird with the cropping but you'll figure it out :finleySmile:

@MorgenStern All Neutral Doom Clock cards have even Cost (1,3,5,7) which makes Doom Rager special as it can either reset your Clock also on 2 or deal 5 damage for 2; Deathrattle synergies can also make it more interesting.
Since you asked that question, imma also bring up something from behind the scenes - the original design was that each clock set effect gave you +3 more Doom Clock turns instead, so Doom Rager made even more sense before. But I decided to change that because it had too much potential to just stack so many turns that once you do it you don't need to worry about it for the rest of the game. Battlecry/Deathrattle repeaters, 2 copies of each card etc. Neutral minions alone would be just too OP and Bringers would achieve too absurd numbers too easily.
Or is it a bug?

I am not sure why he got a doom clock effect since he doesn't even have increased stats (blizzard already made a 2 mana 5/1 rager without any drawbacks)

Just realized: the Justicekeepers are Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and I guess Doctor Strange). As a Marvel fan I really love this.
So, favorite classes (in decreasing order) and then I'm done with comments :chicken:
1. Rogue (probably biased ahah)/Neutral;
2. Shaman/Paladin/Priest;
3. Mage/DH;
4. Hunter/Warlock/Warrior :horde: :alliance:
But enough with the critique, there's a lot of cool stuff too:
- Bladebreaker is cool;
- I love Hexxer of Madness, also Cauldron of Misery is marvelous;
- Rogue's Capsules are incredible ;)
- Readthrough is also very nice as well as the whole 8-drop Paladin (which connects me to the next point);
- The Neutral set: you really payed attention to supporting your specific archetypes while also keeping the cards generally good and Neutral. Well done!
- For Hunter, I like Nonsayer a lot more than the rest :chicken:
- *Manapotamus! WOW* what a cool card, if it's good it can slot into ramp decks, Beast decks, it might go into aggro too, 5 stars card;
- Sageblast, although dangerous, I can't help but like it;
- Inner Demon is brilliant, also Lifelover is...peculiarly interesting for Priest. And the weapon is really nice;
- the Legendary Secrets are all very nice, mostly balanced and original :legendary:
Great work, although...I hate to be the one to say it, but I don't like the Doom Clock one bit :snake: it's by nature either broken if it works, or unplayable if it doesn't. Plus, HS is a heavy card generation game, and if you're not a Doom Clocker you will generate way more useless cards that kill you :snake: (and realistically, if a Doom Clock kills you its because you didn't draw the card/s in your deck that save you. Feels bad)
Also...warlock has a 2/3/5? Not to mention Hunter or The Blood Staff, oof my face hurts.
Should also appreciate that they already did the “stop set mechanic” cards as part of the set

Agra doesn't summon any Beasts, she only Discovers them and gives them Charge, but first you need to play them :tinyfin: And since nearly all the Beasts to choose from in that Discover are 5+ Mana, they can hit hard, but you need time and Mana to do that. Those Doom Clock Beasts are also 4 and 7 Mana, so overall Hunter looks more like a midrange strategy. I also believe control Warrior can outarmor it and control Priest can outheal it, especially with the new tools both classes got

A 5/5 charge, 7/7 charge, Agra that can summon a lot of huge beasts (in your expansion there is only one neutral Beast with bad attack stat, others have 5+)
I feel like that's a lot, plus considering that doomclock creatures all have increased stats, it becomes really hard to play against imo
I love Paladin's and Priest's concepts, doompaladin and doompriest look like good control archetypes

- I went full weapon Warrior here! You can hold and generate your weapons in hand, then buff them with Daggon, play your Madlads and finally strike with those weapons for a lot of damage. Bladebreaker is a really interesting pick here, cause it's a bonus for having too many weapons essentially.
- With Secrets, it's a beginning of a Year so I wanted to give Secret classes a bit more of them to choose from; might will be more Secret synergies in the future. Also Year of the Goat doesn't have a Core Set yet, looking at those Battlecries I can already tell that Brann shouldn't be in it for example.

- Rock in Azeroth was made by MrRhapsody and I must say he did a really awesome job! Another expansion that I made was Escape from Elwynn which some of you might've known.
- Regarding Hunter, it sets up as a strong class that can consistently ends matches as long as you survive like 5 to 7 Doom Clock turns. It's not the fastest, but can hit really, really hard! :smorc: Btw, Agra doesn't have charge herself lol
- And Druid - he has a different identity. If you play Vendigo against a Hunter and follow it up by any buff, it can be game over for him very often.
- Sussy Doomsayer is an Amogussy Doomsayer, I can confirm

I don't want to be nitpicky but the only expansions in which a class got more than 1 Secret were Ashes of Outland and Kobolds and Catacombs Rogue sets, because in both cases Rogue had no Standard Secrets at the moment. It feels kinda weird to give 2 non-legendary Secrets to 2 classes and 3 to Paladin

Hmmm, hunter cards seem to be quite OP I think. Four mana 5/5 with charge that sets a clock and allows you to play a 7/7 with charge, that's TONS of burst damage. Not saying that Doomranger Agra provides you a lot of damage because of the clock as well
Yeah, doomclock puts you on a timer, but with such cards I feel like hunter will be able to finish the entire game before it even runs out :smorc: :smorc: :smorc: :smorc:

@MorgenStern Great question! Doom Bringers only count turns in your last Doom Clock session (the one they stopped). I'd like to avoid any infinite or too bonkers Battlecry combos some of these guys can provide. With Sylla, that would be Shudderwock :boomS: Luckily, with this rule, repeating her Battlecry doesn't work.
If you stop your clock using these legendary doomguys, then start it again, and then play an e.g. Doombrewer Sylla, will her effect take the first doomclock ticking into account?
Yes! You're sometimes sacrificing better counterplays so you can survive, but you often get overstated minions, powerful effects and of course, devastating abilities of the Bringers, who also stop your Doom Clock and give you a lot of time to breathe :qnikkoHi:

@DustenStein No need to worry, there are 6 Neutral cards that help you stabilize your Clock, most of which set it on 3 turns on Battlecry :finleySmile: As long as you're playing one every 2 turns from where you started the Clock, you will be fine!
The highest so far was 2 but I don't think 1 more than that would hurt anyone. I'm a bit worried delaying the clock might be too inconsistent so it would never see play but the Neutral cards might save it. We'll see
