Shoemanband4 years ago If your opponent is holding a lot of spells by turn 4, then there's a good chance they have removal, so the benefit is directly countered by the condition (unless they're Druid, which has no direct removal).
Kovachut4 years ago Regarding the discussion below: well, I could give some examples from both formats, where this card would be quite strong.
In wild there are tons of decks that are spell-based - Spell Hunter, Jade or Combo Druid, Miracle, Secret and Exodia/Freeze Mage, Big Priest, Mecha'thun Warlock. And these are the decks, that are considered to be high tier. I didn't name the others, that don't pop up that often (Control/DMH Warrior, Exodia Paladin, Secret Hunter, Big Shaman, DH Warlock).
Since I don't play in standard, I am not really familiar with the meta there, but if I have to guess, I would say that the Spellsnifter is good against Holy Wrath Paladin (?), Control Warrior, Token Druid (it runs many spells), Big Shaman, Miracle Mage and Chef Nomi Priest.
So as you can see, there are many scenarios, where the trogg would overperform. Despite what I said above, I don't really have an opinion on this card - I'm kinda leaning towards this being a bit too good, but I can't deny, that it's only situationally useful. With this post I just wanted to mention some of the good targets, which would get countered by the Spellsnifter - YOU decide how oppressive/weak he could be.
Poondaedalin4 years ago Brainstormer never sees play, Electrowright never sees play, and neither does Violet Spellsword. What makes you think that a 4 mana 5/5 in 90% of scenarios will ever see play, when your opponent can just cast the spells in hand?
Arschgesicht4 years ago To strong. This is in most matchups. 4 mana 6/6. This is no counter card this card is almost always rly good.
@Ymer @Poondaedalin All of which are in Wild.
And Poison Seeds and Recycle
Except mulch and naturalize
