Schlauchneid (creator)5 years ago Lets say you have a Lightning Bolt in hand. You play Bronze Blitz Buster. Now you have 1 Overloaded Crystal and Spell Damage +1. Now the text on Bolt says 'Deal *4* damage. Overload: (1)' When you cast it, you deal 4 damage not 5 becasue of its own Overload. You don't get the Overload before you resolve the spell and its effect (that was written on the card) doesn't change after you cast it.
wrpen 5 years ago Technically, you don't have any overloaded crystals until the turn AFTER you play the overload cards. Setting up for an OTK would be insanely hard, since you'd have to play enough overload to max out the spell damage bonus but not so much that you end up not having enough mana.
Used outside of the theoretical OTK it's still a solid card, wont cause any instant concedes but could still pretty much win you the game, but it's the same thing for Shudderwock, and still no one really uses that for anything but OTK either.
Randomizer5 years ago What do you mean you'll get the Spell Damage bonus in your hand?
Schlauchneid (creator)5 years ago @Randomizer You get the Spell Damage bonus when the card is in your hand. So no.
Schlauchneid (creator)5 years ago And thx for the promotion MrGruyère.
Schlauchneid (creator)5 years ago Yeah I thought before it probably should cost more but welp too late.
Randomizer5 years ago Since Overload occurs before the spell takes place (See Ancestral Knowledge and Spellstone), playing two of these, a flame burst (11) and a lightning bolt (11) already deals 22 damage. Throw in a Beakered Lightning before you play the Mechs and you'll deal 30.
toothlessmon 5 years ago or you can do double this, wait a turn, then do the combo for more damage...
toothlessmon 5 years ago turn 10 summon this, lava burst, double lightning bolt for 19 burst!
MrGruyère5 years ago Very interesting concept ! You got my upvote !
