Ah, if this never enters Standard it is probably fine. Then I'd definitely recommend it as a 2/6 instead.

If you choose Shapebending this is the minion that you choose in the moment that you choose it.

Your opponent don't know that until a character deals damage to this, or this take damage.
If you copy Ragnaros, at the end of the turn, this deals 8 damage and reveals as Ragnaros.
The "Disguise" is merely aesthetic.
It's to represent the "It could be a chest, or it could be a monster" idea from D&D Mimics.

I had a lil' brainlag. This has the effect of the minion before it deals damage, right?
Nekkro (creator)1 year ago
@DustenStein you can choose. Maybe you rather have another 4 Attack minion, or you think "My opponent's it's going to think that I copied the Ashes of Al'ar for extra value" And then try to Value trade, and dies. It's flexible.
Like Okani and Jaice, you can guess what's the correct option, but in some cases you can also miss.
And if you rather summon a 1/5 because you only have a Whelp in play and you don't whant to copy it, you can play it as it is, even if is a Secret for nobody.

If it was the other way around where you copy a minion always but you can choose to it remain Chester, it would make more sense since then you could trick your opponent into trading into a Poisonous minion
DustenStein 1 year ago
They see what the minion is because you had to copy a friendly minion.

@Rasmus This is a Wild card. I always take in consideration the Set when I make the cards. You can't play it in Standard

Nice this! :qWOW:
DustenStein 1 year ago
Yes and? This does nothing. Whether you copy a high-Attack minion or leave this Poisonous, it matters not
Nekkro (creator)1 year ago
In other words, your opponent see it as Chester, you see it as the minion that is.
Don't fit in Shapebending tho, but that's how it works.
RasmusVJS (3.9)1 year ago
I guess if you're looking at this through the lense of Wild it is ok, but Faceless saw play in Alterac Standard, and this would easily surpass it in that combo.

@DustenStein It has Poisonous if you don't shape. The card appears as Chester, but it has not Chester's effects. It reveals after deal or take damage. So if this is a Yeti, and you attack a minion with a apparent Chester, deals 4 damage and reveals itself to your opponent. It dosn't transform after deal damage, it transform when you play it.

@Nekkro you commented too soon, I explained why there are barely any mindgames
DustenStein 1 year ago
*12 but eh, that's almost the same :chicken:

@DustenStein Jandice too. That's when the Mind-Games beggun.

@Rasmus I don't know. You need to pay the Mana of the card that you copy Just look at cards like Ini Stormcoil, which not only summon a better version of the minion, but also a 4/4.
In warrior you can just use Bloodsworn Mercenary. For the Charge minions, or Shando in Hunter and Druid for big scary beast. DH has the Demon copy Summoner and the 6/6. Mage has Molten Reflection. Rogue don't usually don't care about summon full stats versions of the cards that wants to copy. Priest can do it too. Even Shaman can play the Zafiro with some Blooms to make even more copies. Or you can play cube and triggerit to have a cuve and 2 copies.

Feels like every class that can or want abuse of this card, can already do it by it's own. So in my opinion, the card is as good as it has to be to be playable. :chicken:

Oh no, a 2-card 10 mana combo for a whopping 10 damage :annoy-o-tron:
DustenStein 1 year ago
And since this can only copy friendly minions, your opponent will always know what you do
RasmusVJS (3.9)1 year ago
But also this could totally be a 2/6, right?
DustenStein 1 year ago
The thing about that I find most peculiar is that this has Poisonous. Even if you copy a big minion, trading into this would always result in the attacking minion dying, regardless if you copied a minion or not. Then it literally only comes down to what has more Health, the better effect or Divine Shield
DustenStein 1 year ago
Feels too predictable
RasmusVJS (3.9)1 year ago
In any class this is a two card combo with Mr. Smite for 12 damage.
RasmusVJS (3.9)1 year ago
Ah, the Fairly OddParents card. But for combo purposes, this is cheaper. No one plays Faceless to target enemy minions or Taunt, but this would slot directly into Charge Warrior for the combo. And yes, there are class cards which copy for 4, which is why I say this could be a class card at 4. But not every class should have access to a 4 mana clone.
Nekkro (creator)1 year ago
Faceless can target enemy minions, and this don't have direct impact if you copy a Taunt minion for example.
And they are other class non-Legendary cards that summons friendly minions as well. So I believe is balance. For (5) Mana you just play Faceless, and nobody play Faceless because is not worth it unless you have a Combo in mind.

And It's not inspired by your card, but I have it in mind when I did this one. Is inspired on the Mimics of D&D. It's in fact, a Mimic from D&D. :qWOW:

And the name is a reference to Liking Park, because, I don't know. Was the only Chester that comes to mind other than Chester McBadbat. :jaraxxus-thinking:

Such a cool idea
RasmusVJS (3.9)1 year ago
Also, I don't know if this is intentionally inspired by Maestra's Biggest Fan, but I like this rendition.
RasmusVJS (3.9)1 year ago
I'm inclined to say that this maybe should either be 5 mana or a class card. A Neutral 4-mana Faceless with upside doesn't feel right.
Nekkro (creator)1 year ago
NOTE: The minion is considered Chester to your opponent, so even if you select a minion with Taunt or Stealth, Chester doesn't get those Keywords until revealed.
